Claude Rive Silver Flute

CLAUDE RIVE (ALEXANDRE ROBERT) SILVER FLUTE

A fully overhauled silver flute by Claude Rive
(Alexandre Robert) made somewhere around 1910.
As is often the case it is questionable wether if tail and headjoint
really belong to the main body as both parts just show the
inscription: C.Rive.
Note the delicate keywork and of course the inline french
mechanism of this full silver flute.
On this particular instrument the engravings on the headjoint
and tail are similar but they both do not mention A.Robert.
On the lock of the case the adress of Alexandre Robert in Paris
is engraved. Take a closer look by clicking on the picture.
As Alexandre Robert learnt at the Thibouville Cabart company
and took over most of the features Claude Rive applied,
it is still visible how Godfroy worked as Rive
used to be one of his foremen.
